NIJ Threat Protection Chart ('06 and '04)*
* There is no difference in threat between the NIJ ’04 and NIJ ’06 standards. The differences are in the rigorous nature of the test protocols.
- 04 requires 9 plates tested while 06 is 24
- 04 conditioning requires water “spray” for 6 minutes while 06 is submerged in water for 30 minutes with a 10 minute drip period
- 06 also requires a 10 day tumble (149F,80%hum), 1 day of thermal exposure (5-194F,0-80%hum) as well as a mechanical durability test (drop)
These are the best plates I could find for balancing threat protection and weight and are NIJ certified. I figure if these are good enough for the military, they’re good enough for a civilian like me. They fit my rig perfectly. The sizing guide really helped me understand which plates would fit my body and my rig.
Received my LTC plate set. Easy to look up, NIJ Certified, and made by LTC, as Next Day Armor advertised. LTC made in USA and the ONLY REAL DEAL plates on the net. Glad I could find their product.
My plates arrived on time, packaged SECURELY. I have seen all the bullshit out there, and it is good to see someone selling LTC. USA, quality. Saving up for side plates next
I received my plates today….my carrier needs replacing but everyone is out of stock. When is NDA going to offer IN STOCK Plate carriers!! You would sell a ton if you HAVE THEM IN STOCK!!!
So many “fakes” on the internet. I have wasted so much $$. I am hoping to get a lightweight level III set. I know they are expensive, but hoping NDA can offer LTC level III’s soon
